Few days ago, I got a text saying tonite there’ll be a Dhammaclass with B. Dhammika. At that time, I was very tired and when I saw the name I thought it was an Indonesian Bhikkhu, B. Dhammiko. So, I decided not to go. Hours later I got another text saying that the bhikkhu is the one from Singapore, B. Shravasti Dhammika. Suddenly my heart beat faster and my ego shouted ‘I wanna come!!!’.
I really adore B. Shravasti Dhammika, I read some of his books and visited his blog sometimes. I like his way of thinking, very realistic and open-minded. And I’ve never met him before. Once he came to Yogya on 2008 or 2009, I was at home, 2 days before I came back to Yogya. I was really disappointed at that time. That’s why, when I got the info, I really wanna go.
Finally I really could attend the Dhammaclass. For the first time, I heard his teaching live and met him in person. What a great moment! I really enjoy his answer, especially the one when he told about Dhamma is like a light switch. When you find it, you will feel the light for the first time. You will realize your life will never be the same. Every concepts you got will become nothing. You will see the truth of life!
One of his books titled Broken Buddha is talking about his critique about Sanggha [bhikkhus community] in Thailand. That made me realize that bhikkhu is also a human. We should never only rely on him for enlightenment, Buddha and His teaching are the answers. Rely on your own self for your liberation!
Here are some pics of me and Bhante S. Dhammika on Vihara Karangdjati. Yes, I was the only person who asked for his autograph. I brought 2books of him, Good Question & Good Answers and All About Buddhism.

Me showing him his books in Indonesian Edition

B.S.Dhammika had never seen ‘All About Buddhism’ in Indonesian Edition
May one day I will meet Him again…
May you be happy!
May all beings be happy and free from hatred, ignorance and greed.
ciao,
lisa
